On Sunday, May 27 of Memorial Day weekend 2007, Blind Willie was privileged to take part in a benefit concert for the Chad Clifton Foundation, an organization birthed in memory of Lance Corporal Richard Chad Clifton who was killed in action on February 3, 2005 while serving his country in Iraq. The foundation raises funds to support those wounded in action. The event featured several bands, free food and beer. Those attending were given the opportunity to sponsor a fallen soldier for a modest donation of $5.00. There were also copies of the book "A Random Soldier" authored by Chad and Terri Clifton for sale.
A great time was had by all and hopefully a lot of money was raised for a very worthy cause. This is an annual event and we urge all of our friends to make plans to attend next year.
To make donations to the Chad Clifton Foundation or to purchase a copy of the poignant story of Chad, "A Random Soldier", contact the Chad Clifton Foundation, 9397 Cods Road, Milford, DE 19963. |
